Wipro appoints Sanjeev Jain as COO
Wipro has announced the appointment of Sanjeev Jain as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), following the resignation of former COO Amit Choudhary last Friday. Jain will report directly to CEO Srini Pallia and continue as a member of Wipro’s Executive Committee.
Sanjeev Jain joined Wipro in 2023 and has since held significant senior roles at Cognizant, GE, IBM, and Kyndryl Holdings. In his new role as COO, Jain will focus on streamlining operations, enhancing client-centric delivery, and driving operational excellence within the company.
CEO Srini Pallia commended Jain’s contributions, particularly in the areas of AI training and career development strategies. Under Jain’s leadership, over 225,000 employees have been trained in AI principles, showcasing his commitment to advancing Wipro’s capabilities in this crucial area.
Pallia expressed confidence in Jain’s ability to further elevate Wipro’s operational standards and drive the company towards greater success. “Sanjeev has been instrumental in implementing AI training programs and career development strategies that have significantly benefited our workforce. His dedication to operational excellence and client-focused delivery makes him the ideal candidate to take on the role of COO,” said Pallia.
Amit Choudhary, the outgoing COO, will remain with Wipro until the end of May to ensure a smooth transition. Choudhary's tenure at Wipro was marked by numerous achievements, and his efforts have laid a solid foundation for Jain to build upon.
The leadership change comes at a pivotal time for Wipro as the company continues to expand its services and enhance its operational efficiencies. With Jain’s extensive experience and proven track record, Wipro is poised to strengthen its position as a leading global IT services provider.
