Software investment firm Thoma Bravo has announced plans to acquire Verint Systems, a leader in customer experience (CX) automation, in a deal valued at $2 billion. The all-cash transaction, expected to close in early 2026, remains subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals.
Once finalized, Thoma Bravo will merge Verint with its portfolio company Calabrio, a provider of contact center workforce engagement solutions. The integration aims to create a unified AI-driven CX powerhouse, delivering a comprehensive range of products designed to help organizations enhance engagement, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
According to Thoma Bravo Partner Mike Hoffman, the combined business will offer the industry’s most extensive CX platform, empowering brands across sectors to achieve transformative, AI-powered outcomes.
Verint’s board has unanimously approved the deal, and CEO & Chairman Dan Bodner highlighted the acquisition as a recognition of Verint’s leadership in CX automation. He noted that global enterprises are already leveraging the Verint CX Automation Platform to achieve measurable AI-driven business results.
The acquisition comes amid a broader trend of rising adoption of generative AI in customer service. A recent PYMNTS Intelligence report revealed that 97% of CMOs see generative AI as highly effective in improving personalization, streamlining repetitive tasks, and enabling real-time assistance. By automating routine queries, AI allows service teams to concentrate on complex, high-value interactions requiring human expertise.
This deal follows Thoma Bravo’s recent announcement to acquire Dayforce, a human capital management technology firm, further strengthening its position in the enterprise software ecosystem.
