
Discover Airlines has officially named Marco Goetz as its new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), effective today. Goetz succeeds Helmut Woelfel, who left the company at the end of August. In his new role, Goetz will lead the airline’s commercial strategies, focusing on optimizing revenue management, expanding network planning, and elevating customer experience. His leadership will be instrumental as Discover Airlines seeks to bolster its market presence and enhance service quality for passengers.
Goetz, who has been with Discover Airlines since its inception in May 2020, played a pivotal role in the airline’s growth and establishment. His expertise in revenue management became particularly evident when he was appointed Chief Revenue Officer in March 2021, where he was responsible for driving revenue growth and forging key global sales partnerships, particularly in the tour operator segment. This experience has equipped him with the skills needed to steer the airline’s commercial operations effectively.
Prior to joining Discover Airlines, Marco Goetz had a distinguished career within the Lufthansa Group, where he held various managerial roles in network planning, purchasing, and revenue management at Lufthansa Airlines and Lufthansa CityLine in Munich. His extensive experience in these areas provided him with a deep understanding of the intricacies of airline operations and commercial strategy, making him a natural fit for his new position at Discover Airlines.
As Chief Commercial Officer, Goetz will focus on advancing Discover Airlines’ market reach, enhancing the customer experience, and optimizing the airline’s service offerings. Leveraging his extensive background in the aviation sector, Goetz plans to introduce innovative strategies to meet the evolving needs of travelers while driving the airline’s growth.
