
Sainsbury’s has announced a new seven-year agreement with NCR Voyix, a global leader in digital commerce solutions, to transform its shopping experience and support its Next Level Sainsbury’s business strategy. This agreement expands the UK grocer’s more than 20-year strategic partnership with NCR Voyix.
Sainsbury’s is set to upgrade its checkout technology by deploying the NCR Voyix Commerce Platform, Point of Sale (POS) Solutions, and Next Generation Self-Checkout systems across 22,500 checkouts in its supermarkets, convenience stores, and petrol stations. These technologies, powered by NCR Voyix Edge software, will offer innovative solutions for both Sainsbury’s customers and employees.
By leveraging NCR Voyix cloud technology, Sainsbury’s aims to enhance the customer journey with real-time data and analytics, while utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) for sales analysis, forecasting future store performance, improving colleague productivity, and managing cash efficiently.
The new platform will allow colleagues to approve transactions remotely via tablets, speeding up the checkout process and improving the overall shopping experience. Additionally, the next-generation self-checkout systems, powered by AI, will deliver personalized promotions tailored to each customer.
