Malaysia Airlines and Google Deepen Partnership to Accelerate Digital Customer Experience Transformation

Malaysia Airlines has extended its strategic partnership with Google, reinforcing their shared vision of revolutionising the travel experience through advanced technologies. Building on the achievements of their 2024 collaboration, the renewed alliance aims to further integrate artificial intelligence, data-driven marketing, and digital innovation into the airline’s operations.

The flag carrier noted that the strengthened collaboration will focus on embedding AI-powered solutions across its entire ecosystem—from personalised marketing to seamless, tech-enabled passenger journeys. The move marks a shift from individual digital showcases to a more holistic, integrated approach to innovation.

As part of this evolution, Malaysia Airlines and Google unveiled a unique interactive experience at the recent MATTA Fair under the airline’s “Time For” campaign. The activation featured a pilot of Google’s Veo, an AI-driven image-to-video generation tool that allowed visitors to upload a photo and watch it be transformed into an engaging, shareable video—bringing travel memories to life through cutting-edge technology.

Dersenish Aresandiran, Chief Commercial Officer of Airlines at Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), commented,
“Our goal is to completely reshape how travellers connect with us—from initial inspiration through booking and every moment in between. With Google’s technological expertise and global reach, we are unlocking new avenues to enrich customer experiences and position Malaysia as a leading tourism hub.”

He also reaffirmed the airline’s dedication to supporting Visit Malaysia Year 2026, highlighting the role this partnership plays in showcasing Malaysia as a key gateway to Asia and beyond.
