This move follows Darwin CX’s acquisition of a strategic stake in the dsb Group, which operates in Germany and the UK. As part of its expansion efforts, Darwin CX has been migrating clients like The New Statesman from outdated SAP-based systems to its agile, cloud-native platform specifically designed for the publishing industry.

This achievement represents a significant step forward in Darwin CX’s mission to free publishers from rigid, legacy mainframe and on-premises systems, such as those built by IBM and SAP. Since 2016, Darwin CX has successfully migrated hundreds of clients from over a dozen outdated platforms to its modern, reliable cloud-based ecosystem, delivering improved performance and flexibility.

To diversify revenue streams, many publishers have introduced additional offerings, including online and in-person events, memberships, subscription boxes, and digital paywalls. While these new revenue sources have helped expand business models, they have also introduced complex data management challenges. Publishers worldwide are now facing difficulties in obtaining a comprehensive view of customer behavior across various channels.

The ability to consolidate data from multiple sources is increasingly vital as the publishing industry continues to deal with the limitations of legacy systems that hinder growth and innovation. By replacing these outdated subscription systems with its adaptable SaaS solution, Darwin CX enables publishers to integrate diverse product portfolios and unify customer and transactional data on a single platform.
