ABB Malaysia has unveiled its new Customer Experience Center in Petaling Jaya, reinforcing the company’s commitment to accelerating industrial transformation and supporting Malaysia’s transition toward a low-carbon, technology-driven economy. The facility was officially inaugurated by Dato’ Sri Mad Zaidi bin Mohd Karli.
Located at ABB Malaysia’s headquarters, the state-of-the-art center is designed to help industries adopt next-generation electrification, automation, and digital technologies that improve operational efficiency, strengthen sustainability, and accelerate decarbonization efforts. The initiative aligns closely with Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030), and the Malaysia MADANI agenda, all focused on building a resilient and future-ready industrial ecosystem.
The Customer Experience Center will serve key sectors such as oil and gas, semiconductor manufacturing, data centers, utilities, commercial buildings, and process industries. Businesses visiting the center can experience live demonstrations of ABB’s advanced technologies, allowing them to test, co-create, and deploy scalable industrial solutions faster and more efficiently.
During the launch event, Dato’ Sri Mad Zaidi bin Mohd Karli highlighted the importance of advanced technologies in creating a cleaner, smarter, and more energy-efficient future. He emphasized that innovation and digitalization are essential for strengthening energy security, reducing emissions, and improving industrial competitiveness in the era of carbon regulations and global sustainability standards.
He also stressed the urgent need for stronger investments in Malaysia’s national grid infrastructure, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and smart power technologies to ensure long-term energy resilience and uninterrupted supply for consumers and industries alike. Predictive technologies, automation systems, and digital resource management solutions were identified as critical components for achieving sustainable growth and operational efficiency.
Ho Siew Kim said the new facility reflects ABB’s engineering-led innovation strategy and its commitment to helping industries operate more efficiently, productively, and sustainably. She noted that ABB’s philosophy, “Engineered to Outrun,” focuses on combining engineering expertise with digital transformation capabilities to enable businesses to outperform in a rapidly evolving industrial landscape.
The center features three dedicated sections showcasing ABB’s latest industrial technologies:
- The Electrification Section highlights innovations in smart power systems, low-voltage solutions, smart buildings, and power distribution technologies.
- The Motion Section showcases digital powertrain technologies, IE5 Synchronous Reluctance Motors, ACS880 drives, and AI-powered cooling efficiency solutions designed to reduce energy consumption and improve sustainability.
- The Automation Section demonstrates ABB’s advanced measurement, analytics, adaptive manufacturing technologies, and distributed control systems, including System 800xA and Symphony Plus integrated with digital energy solutions.
In conjunction with the launch, ABB Malaysia is hosting a four-day Innovation Forum themed “Outrun the Ordinary: Empowerment through Innovation.” The forum brings together industry leaders, policymakers, academia, system integrators, manufacturers, and technology experts to discuss emerging trends, industrial transformation, and sustainable development opportunities. The final day is dedicated to engaging students and young professionals through career discussions and industry-focused knowledge-sharing sessions related to the global energy transition.
With more than 140 years of global expertise and a strong focus on electrification and automation, ABB continues to position itself as a leading technology partner helping industries worldwide achieve smarter, more sustainable operations.
